Hello PayID. Hello simple.

Faster and simpler payments are coming early 2018

Soon you’ll be able to receive and send payments to family, friends and businesses almost instantly, even if they bank with someone else. These fast payments (also known as NPP Payments or Osko Payments) will be available in early 2018, using Internet Banking and the Mobile Banking app. Another benefit of this new service is that you will be able to send more detailed descriptions (up to 280 characters) with your payments.

When the service launches you will be invited to register for PayID, which links the bank account to a recognisable and memorable piece of information used in everyday life – such as a phone number or email address, instead of a BSB and account number.

Concerned about security? The new system has been designed to be not only very simple, but also very secure; extra fraud detection methods have been added and financial institutions are working together closely to make sure the highest security and fraud prevention measures are in place.

BSB and Account numbers will continue to exist. If you prefer not to register for a PayID, you can still provide your BSB and account number to get paid by someone.

Once the service launches in early 2018, we’ll invite you to register for PayID. In the meantime, if you are new to our organisation, download the Mobile Banking app and discover more about mobile payments.
