Community Involvement

Because we are part of the Centrelink and ATO communities, what is important to our Members is also important to us. This is why we have become involved in the following community activities.

Ross Divett Foundation

In 2009 we entered into a 3 year agreement with the Ross Divett Foundation to become the Foundation’s corporate partner. Over the 3 years of the agreement we will offer practical support where we can and also contribute $50,000 to assist the Foundation in furthering its aims.

The Ross Divett Foundation is an initiative of Centrelink staff to support the Australian Community. The Foundation is committed to the Australian community and will assist a broad range of individuals and organisations by distributing funds for charitable and community purposes. It was set up in memory of Ross Divett, the Assistant CEO of Centrelink when Centrelink was formed in 1998.

We encourage our members and all Centrelink staff to consider contributing to the Foundation. Visit the Foundation website.

Centrelink Games

Each year the Centrelink games are held. This is an event organised by Centrelink staff and encourages staff from all over Australia to participate. It is a great weekend where a number of sporting events are held as well as plenty of socialising. Security Credit Union has been the major sponsor of this event for over 10 years.

Comtax's ATO Support

Comtax Credit Union has and continues to support many sporting and staff activities undertaken by the staff of the ATO. This includes events held by individual social clubs in the ATO to larger events such as the Sports Carnival which is held every 4 years.

Remote Schools

In 2005 the board of Comtax decided to support another staff initiative, the ATO Book and Toy appeal for remote schools and children, this initiative has been featured many times in News Extra.

Comtax is supporting this worthwhile cause by directly providing the schools with equipment, materials and other items that the schools or communities need.
